Clinical Research
Clinical Research is a big part of the practice at Rocky Mountain Diabetes and Osteoporosis Center and has been for more than 10 years. We have collaborated with most of the major pharmaceutical companies in bringing to market several new treatments and medications for Diabetes.
Not only does our participation in clinical trials further the knowledge of diabetes and its treatment, but it offers our patients a chance to participate in these exciting trials as well. By participating in clinical trials, our patients are able to receive novel new treatments not yet available to the general public and are part of the momentum behind the growing knowledge base regarding diabetes, both type 1 and type 2, which is leading to more effective treatment.
Rocky Mountain Diabetes and Osteoporosis Center has 3 physicians with extensive training and experience in overseeing subjects in clinical trials. Dr. John Liljenquist has been involved in these trials for more than 15 years and has overseen hundreds of studies. Dr. Carl Vance has participated in clinical trials for 7 years and Dr. Dave Liljenquist has been involved for 4 years.
The research staff at Rocky Mountain Diabetes and Osteoporosis Center has a combined 20 years of research experience. Our staff includes a Pharmacist with his Pharm. D. from Idaho State University, and 4 certified clinical research coordinators. We have excellent regulatory documents department that has developed unique methods of managing the ever-changing documents in such a way that many auditors have suggested it to be taught to other sites.
Because research in the medical field is always changing, our menu of current clinical trials is also very fluid. We frequently have trials for both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes as well as diabetic neuropathy, diabetic nephropathy (kidney disease), hypertension, high cholesterol, and obesity. We have recently begun working with local neurologists to offer trials in Multiple Sclerosis and Migraine Headaches as well.
It is our goal to continue offering the best clinical research trials to our patients and to make sure they have the best experience as well as the best care as participants of those trials. If you are interested in participating in a clinical trial, please contact our office. If you are a sponsor and wish to offer a trial in our area, we would be happy to speak to you as well.
